Dr. Sina Patricia Müller from the Department of Transfusion Medicine at the University Medical Center Goettingen received the doctoral thesis award 2010. Dr. Müller received the award for her doctoral thesis entitled "Non-invasive prenatal genetic diagnosis: Advances using the Rh blood group system as a model". The Medical Faculty honoured Dr. Müller for her valuable contribution in developing methods which allow the determination of fetal genetic polymorphisms from maternal blood. Her work was funded as part of the Network of Excellence SAFE (The Special Non-Invasive Advances in Fetal and Neonatal Evaluation Network) within the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission.
